Overnight Care

During overnight care, I come to your home during agreed upon hours. My responsibilities are primarily infant care, but also to offer educational and emotional support to the new parents.

My duties include:

Support of breast-feeding or bottle-feeding, burping, changing, cord and circumcision care, soothing, attending to monitors (if applicable), preparing and cleaning bottles.

As well as keeping a log of baby's patterns including eating, sleeping, elimination and moods. We will put a schedule together that fits you as well as your newborn for sleep training. I will make it my top priority to transition your baby into a regular routine and to get your newborn to sleep through the night. From the start I teach you how to create healthy habits that will make sleep conditioning much easier. Sleep conditioning may be started at 9 pounds.

Every baby is unique and I do my best to nurture healthy sleep habits as soon a possible. You chose where I stay, either in babies room or close by surroundings. All I require is a bed or couch.  A good reading light is nice to have and access to wifi. I do not do awake care, please keep this in mind.

Consultation

This service is available for those families who don’t feel they need an NCS to provide night time care, but would like to get their newborn infant on a feeding/sleeping schedule or have questions that they would like for me to answer.

Prior to our meeting, I will email, mail or drop off log sheets for you to fill out with the newborns feeding/sleeping activities. I like to see 2-3 days of daily eat/sleep activity to see where we may need to go over and adjust the infants schedule to work within your daily schedule.

I will come to your home and meet with you for 1 to 2 hours, where we will go over your baby’s daily routine and schedule.

We will discuss any and all questions you have about the care of your newborn, and troubleshoot any concerns you might have.

If your baby does not have a routine or schedule, we will put one in place that will work well with your family’s daily activities and life style. Your newborn will quickly be on the road to establishing healthy sleep habits that will last a lifetime.

I will teach you how to use gentle and proven soothing techniques that will help stretch your newborn's sleep both during the day, and at night. Consultation include ongoing phone and/or e-mail support for 12 full weeks, so that if you have any issues that arise, you have someone to help you throughout the sleep training process.

Project any of my own beliefs onto your experience
